Casting Techniques

A fishing buddy of mine reminded me the other day that there is a difference between going fishing and going fish catching. We are on occasion participants in the first activity rather than the second. That’s OK too. We enjoy each other’s company.

But if you want to go fish catching you need to know what’s most important to do. Bumcast of Swift Fly Fishing makes an excellent point that it’s not so much the fly you use as the way the fly behaves in the water. Accordingly, you need to know what cast and mend to use for the conditions.
